So, I’m up to the 3rd day of NaNoWriMo. The writing is going pretty well, I’m totally falling in love with these characters. I’ve been meaning to write this post for a few hours but writing and my boyfriend’s moving of computers around our living room sort of got in the way of it.
At the moment of writing this I’m at 10539. I might or might not add more to that depending on my mood (which is really good at the moment so I might try for a couple more words). Today I’ve added almost 4K words to this count and they have been coming easier and easier.
Anyway, here are 2 images to show how far I’ve come.
Reverse NaNo is explained here: Reverse NaNo Just so you know that I didn’t come up with those word counts myself.
What you’re of course really curious about is what I’ve been writing, well, here is a piece.
The till moved slowly, it was apparently too hot to do anything at a decent speed. Tara and Jacob were a couple of tills over and he saw the way Tara winked at him.
He blushed. Crap. He was supposed to keep his mouth shut. Not fair. Though he couldn’t really go back on his word now. That would be unwise.
Instead he acted like he looked ahead in the row but secretly checked out Thomas’ ass and back muscles. He’d love to run his hands over them. He quickly looked away, nope, wrong. Getting a boner here would be really bad. He looked to the side only to catch the knowing look in Tara’s eyes.
He was so throughly fucked. Jacob and Tara didn’t know that Thomas already had someone and apparently his own interest in the younger brother was obvious. How was he supposed to solve this?
The four of them sat down at a cafeteria close to the store all with a huge icecream. It was so good to have something cold finally.
“So…” Tara looked at him. “What are your plans for the summer?”
“Reading, sun. I don’t know, something like that.”
“Not hooking up with some cute girls?” Tara smiled and he knew exactly where this was going.
“No, I’m not really looking for something like that.” He tried to let her let go by sheer willpower, but of course, she didn’t.
“Really? Guys then?”
“Tara!” Jacob pushed her affectionately. “Don’t be such a pry. You can’t just ask things like that.”
Tara looked at him and now so did Thomas. He wasn’t going to have to answer that, right? Right?
But the silence became uncomfortable and everybody was looking at him until Thomas’ phone went off. Saved by the bell it seemed.
AAAAND, this is something I’m really excited about, Disturbed Fate, the Otherkin Spirits book 1 is on sale for this whole month! Tranquil Destiny, the book I’m working on right now is the 3rd book in the Otherkin Spirits series.
Disturbed Fate was the first time I completed NaNoWriMo (2011) and it finally came out last summer. So it is still quite new.
MARC, a small pet shop owner and seer, needs help with his store, but his new employee, GALEN, brings with him more trouble than expected. Marc tries to keep their relationship professional even if Galen seems insistent on taking it to the next level. And then there is the problem of Galen’s past.
KEIRAN, a hard working medical student and Marc’s best friend, has a small problem, a stalker. One night he confronts the guy and finds in his stalker vampire, DEVLAN, is too alluring to turn down. But Devlan isn’t who he seems to be.
When the four men meet up for a night out their lives fall apart. Marc’s premonitions are wrong and everything points towards one autumn night a couple of years ago. Now they need to figure out what happened that night, before someone dies, again.
Time is running out. The visions might be false, but they don’t paint a pretty picture, not about their futures and, especially, not about their pasts. They need to reverse the change before it is too late.
The book is now
(or the equivalent) on most stores!!! (though do check to be sure)
Good luck to everybody working on their NaNoWriMo project and happy reading!
