It’s that time of the year again, April’s fools, yes, but also NaNo time!! I like NaNo time, it helps me connect with many awesome people from all over the world.
NaNoWriMo is short for National Novel Writing Month, which is an event where you write 50.000 words in one month, or the size of one novel. This normally takes place in November, but there are usually two “camps’ during the spring and summer where you can also do this. Organised by the same people.
You can find more information on their website: www.campnanowrimo.org
That brings me to my rebel status.
I LOVE NaNo in november. It’s awesome and I meet great friends. This time I’m not taking the regular path (by writing a novel) but instead using my wordcount for some other projects. It has been getting really stressful around here for me and I keep getting stuck in the research phase of all my projects. To get beyond that I’m going to attempt this NaNo as a rebel (name for those who don’t follow the novel writing path).
I’ve set my goal at 50k, a regular NaNo run, which is about 1667 words per day.
So, this is on my schedule for this month:
– 4K assignment on naming conventions in translated manga
– 15K dissertation (only need a start, doesn’t need to be finished, but I’d like to get somewhere)
– 1 to 2K chapter for a book for my university
– 20K (my target number) on a story for Love’s Landscapes (only fiction on the list) link to the post about that here.
Last 10K can go into the LL story or a range of other things like useful blog posts.
I’m looking forward to it already!!! (even though I’m gone all week next week…)
Who else is participating in it? Do you have a cool story yet?
